The challenge of eating vegan and low FODMAP

You do have to pay a bit of extra attention to your nutrition when you eat low FODMAP and vegan. Some favorite ingredients in vegan diets, such as beans and legumes are high in FODMAPs or only low FODMAP in very small amounts.

Also, another vegan diet favorite, avocado, can only be eaten in small servings on this diet. Next to that, lots of veggies are limited low FODMAP. So you have to plan well how you combine them into your diet.

This can be challenging and make it a little more difficult to vary enough. Therefore, I would always recommend following the diet under the guidance of a dietician who can make sure that you get all the nutrients that you need.
