Description

Homemade low FODMAP creamed spinach made with lactose-free white sauce and cream. Low lactose and vegetarian.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp gluten-free flour (I use Schär Mix It Universal)
  • 200 ml (6.8 fl. oz.) lactose-free whole milk
  • 400 g (14.1 oz) fresh spinach
  • 100 ml (3.4 oz) lactose-free cream
  • Pepper and salt to taste
  • 2 stalks of spring onion, the green part, in rings

Instructions

  1. Heat the butter in a large frying pan.
  2. When the butter has melted, add the flour. Cook for 2 minutes while stirring regularly.
  3. Then add 200 ml of lactose-free whole milk. Stir continuously with a wish and cook for 5 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  4. Add the spinach little by little and cook until it wilts. Repeat until you’ve used all the spinach.
  5. Add the cream and let it heat up.
  6. Season with salt and pepper and add spring onion rings.
  7. Let this cook for a while.
  8. Serve immediately.
