Description
An Italian grilled cheese sandwich with salami and cheese on sourdough spelt bread. Because some salamis don’t have garlic this recipe is low FODMAP too
Ingredients
Scale
- Two slices of sourdough spelt bread (normal spelt bread is ok too if you tolerate this)
- ½ can tomato paste (about 30 g)
- A slice of yellow cheese
- A few slices of low FODMAP salami
- Margarine
- Fresh basil (dried is also ok)
- Pepper and salt
Instructions
- Spread one side of one slice of bread with tomato paste
- Sprinkle some pepper, salt and fresh basil on top.
- Put the cheese and a few slices of salami on top of the tomato paste.
- Cover with the other slice of bread and spread both outsides of the slices of bread with margarine.
- Heat a pan on the stove. Because you have already spread margarine on outside of the sandwich you don’t need to add butter or oil to the pan.
- Bake the grilled cheese sandwich for about 5 minutes on each side until the bread has become nicely brown and crunchy and the cheese has melted.
