Description
A basic recipe for low FODMAP pasta sauce! A delicious and simple tomato pasta sauce. The sauce is also gluten- and lactose-free.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can of peeled tomatoes (I use the brand Mutti)
- 1 tsp Italian herbs
- 1 tsp red wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp garlic-infused olive oil
- Pepper and salt
- Optional: a handful of fresh basil
Instructions
- Place the peeled tomatoes, Italian herbs, and red wine vinegar in a blender or food processor. Pulse until you have a smooth sauce.
- Heat the olive oil in a saucepan. Add the tomato sauce and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and optional fresh basil. Taste and add additional salt or pepper to taste.
Notes
*I choose more expensive canned tomatoes from the Mutti brand because I think these tomatoes have more flavor. This creates a tomato sauce with more flavor.
Storage: You can store the tomato sauce in the refrigerator in a sealed container for about 3 days. You can also freeze it: the sauce will stay good for about 3 months in a sealed container.
