10x Low FODMAP Christmas Breakfast
If you ask me, the best start of Christmas is a Christmas breakfast with lots of different yummy choices. The times that Christmas breakfast only consisted of warm bread rolls and Christmas bread is long gone because there are so many different possibilities for breakfast! Today I will give you 10 different recipes for a low FODMAP Christmas breakfast. Of course, I share (Dutch) classics such as Christmas bread and scones, but also waffles, cinnamon buns and kaiserschmarrn. Sweet options and savoury options. Everyone will find something they like here!
Low FODMAP Dutch Christmas bread
I couldn’t leave out this classic on my list. In the Netherlands, this bread is always part of a low FODMAP Christmas breakfast. A soft bread with raisins and almond paste. Put a thick layer of butter on top and you are ready to go!
Healthy waffles
A delicious breakfast to start your Christmas off healthy. Waffles made with oat flour and banana. Delicious with warm red fruit and powdered sugar.
Gluten-free scones
How good is it to add scones to your Christmas breakfast? Serve them with some low FODMAP jam and lactose-free whipping cream (or clotted cream) and enjoy!
Scrambled tofu
A hearty breakfast and a vegan version of scrambled eggs: scrambled tofu!
Mini raisin buns
Make homemade low FODMAP raisin buns for your Christmas breakfast! Delicious small buns that are great with only some butter on top or as I love to eat them: with butter and cheese. Yum!
Cinnamon rolls
These cinnamon rolls might not be the healthiest breakfast, but we won’t look at that with Christmas right? They are so tasty and everybody will enjoy them!
Strawberry crumble
A crumble is also a great idea for a Christmas breakfast or brunch! This healthy strawberry crumble is delicious and you can easily double or triple the ingredients to make this for a crowd.
Kaiserschmarrn
These Austrian kaiserschmarrn are a real treat. Pieces of fluffy pancake with warm red fruit and powdered sugar. A perfect festive breakfast!
Sweet potato muffins
A savoury addition to your Christmas breakfast: sweet potato muffins! You can make these muffins a few days in advance. Warm them up right before you serve them and voilà!
Healthy cheesecake with lemon and kiwi
This fresh cheesecake will also look great on the Christmas table. This cheesecake is healthy, but also super yummy and fruity!
